History Interfood

Interfood was founded in 1970 by Mr. Jules F. Joosten, a son of a miller’s family from the town of Weert in the south of the Netherlands. He preferred to start his own business, rather than playing a role in the family business. With the help of his friend Mr. Jan Beelen, who ran a meat company in the village of Hapert, he started Interfood, using Mr. Beelen’s office, telephone and telex machine.

Interfood’s initial focus lay with calf milk replacers for Italy and condensed milk for Greece. In the mid seventies milk powders and whey powders were added to the product range.

In 1978 the current CEO, Mr. Frank van Stipdonk, joined Interfood. He bought the company in 1990 from the deceased Mr. Joosten’s heirs and decided that Interfood’s future lay in globalization.

Starting with Slovakia, then USA, Ukraine, New Zealand, Poland, Australia, Mexico and later the UK, Brazil, Algeria, China, Uruguay, Senegal and Russia, a global network was created that today provides information about, and access to the world market.

Today celebrating our 40th anniversary, the Interfood team stands for transparency and integrity, offering you reliability and professionalism in the global dairy market.
